Admission Policies and Procedures
Franco American
School does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, national origin, or religion in the selection of students.
However, all students are expected to participate in the same religious instruction classes and functions.
In addition our school does not have a special education department to deal with serious learning difficulties and
consequently cannot accept students who require special services.
The admission process begins with a phone call and/or a tour of the school where questions are
answered and general information is given to parents. Interested parents and students are placed on a list
based on the date the request date. Formal registration for the following school year begins in January
as openings occur.
Pre-Kindergarten
applicants must be four years old by September 1 of the year entering the program. Copies of birth records
and Baptismal records (if applicable) as well as proof of immunization are required.
Kindergarten applicants must be five years old by September 1 of the year entering the
program and complete a readiness-screening test. Students who will be five after September 1st
may apply for admission and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis if space is available. Copies of
birth records and Baptismal records (if applicable) as well as proof of immunization are required.
Students in grades 1-8 are accepted on a space-available basis
following re-registration of current students. Transfer students are required to submit copies of current
and previous year report cards and to take a placement test if necessary.
In the application process, priority is given to students with siblings currently enrolled at the
Franco American School. The final decision for admitting students is made by the Principal.
Financial Aid is available for qualifying families.
Applications must be done by April 15 through www.factstuitionaid.com.
Per
requirement of the Massachusetts Department of Health, students will not be admitted without a copy of immunization records.
